$2 million commitment to upgrade MacNaughton Park clubrooms
Putting community first has always been my priority, and I was pleased to share some fantastic news about a project that over 90% of the Kinross community had been calling for.
The re-elected Albanese Labor Government committed $2 million to refurbish the clubroom at MacNaughton Park in partnership with the City of Joondalup. This investment delivered significant improvements to a facility that was vital to our local sporting clubs and community groups.
The refurbishment included:
- An upgraded kitchen
- Improved toilets
- New unisex changerooms
- A new umpires' change room
- Enhanced storage facilities
- Hall upgrades including painting, flooring, heating and cooling
As many of you knew, MacNaughton Park was home to four sporting clubs, including Kingsley Westside Football Club and Wanneroo Joondalup Tee Ball Club. The clubroom was also regularly used by seven community groups, such as Kinross Scout Group, The Golden Group, and Northern Yarnies.
This commitment directly responded to the community consultation conducted the previous year, which overwhelmingly showed support for the refurbishment. The facilities were no longer suitable for their intended use, and this upgrade ensured they met the standards needed to serve our community effectively now and into the future.
The re-elected Albanese Labor Government listened to your feedback and took action to support our local sporting and community groups.
